With the beginning of spring and my focus lately on summer internships, I've naturally been thinking about new summer styles and what to wear as a fashion intern. Shoes have never been my area of expertise, but I recently have become addicted, especially as they can make an outfit. Here are the some of the ones I have my eyes on:

This shoe has a tough romantic goth lookwith the snaps, laces and straps. Yet it is a polished leather peeptoe and would add some edge to a girly outfit. I can imagine the perfect floral dress plus these heels.

I saw these on whowhatweardaily.com, one of my favorite fashion blogs and not to mention my homepage. I loved the wooden heel and although not normally one who can walk in heels, I've really gotten into that style. The colors are fun and practical (neutrals) but the coral provides a vivacious appeal. This shoe makes me so excited for summer.

Bakers calls these shoes "birdcage rage" which I think is hilarious. I love the height, criss cross straps and zipper in the back. Putting these on with a high waisted skirt, summer dress or even pants and a cute blazer would be adorable.

Well this is a fall or winter shoe, but it would have been perfect for all the interviews I had last week. It's a cute pump with not too big a heel, but enough for height. Although brown, it's feminine with the ruffled t-strap and would add an accent color to my favorite go to black dresses.
I ended up getting a few of these shoes after fantasizing about them so much, but also had great finds at Nine West & Nine West Outlet. They have amazing basic strappy heeled sandals in brown and black that are sophisticated enough for the office or going out to dinner. They also have a wide selection of gladiators which I love and are still in this season!

A Worthy Affair

The next fashion soirée of the season is the 2nd Annual Designer Accessories Auction and Cocktail Celebration on April 27th, a glamorous and charitable event run by the organization PROMISE. I am dying to attend not just because Tim Gunn is the emcee or that numerous fashion connoisseurs are listed on the invitation, rather I am inspired by this event because it brings numerous people together (many whom I admire) for a worthy cause. The event is called A Beautiful Promise and is a fundraiser for the Center for Attention and Learning Disorders at Lenox Hill Hospital. It is a fashion must featuring some of the biggest names in the business while raising awareness and money for an important cause, one that I strongly support. A close family friend is a member of PROMISE and sent me an invitation; however, I will be at school and sadly cannot make it to NYC. But to those interested, the benefit Co-Chairs are Cindy Weber Clearly, the Fashion Director of In Style Magazine, as well as Sasha Iglehart, the Deputy Fashion Director of Glamour Magazine. Watch TV and Be Fabulous

The latest fashion phenomenon was not seen on the runways at New York or Paris Fashion Week. Rather, the newest trend is the emergence of magazine “reality” shows. The hottest series to hit the ranks after The Devil Wears Prada, The Fashionista Diaries, Stylista and Confessions of a Shopaholic is Marie Claire’s Running in Heels. The Hearst publication uses television to highlight the process of producing a magazine, a smart choice to promote Marie Claire given the economy and difficulty for print publications. The show’s advertising tagline is “what really happens at Marie Claire,” but is it all exact? The show focuses on three interns Samantha, Ashley and Talita. They are all trying to prove themselves in the industry by working their way up the fashion ladder. The trio try to impress the Marie Claire staff and ultimately the editor in chief – Joanna Coles. Since I’m seeking a fashion magazine career, this show provides some good exposure, but also has exaggerated moments that offer humor for all viewers. The girls live together which produces drama and are constantly jealous of each other’s assigned tasks. There’s both glamour and stress, fashion shows and errands. Running in Heels depicts the truth about interns at a fashion magazine but don’t forget it’s slightly altered by television.

Every time I’m in NYC, the shops and restaurants seem to call out for me to enter. Peanut Butter & Co located on 240 Sullivan Street (between Bleecker & W. 3rd Street) is one of these continuous temptations. This tiny but adorable eatery is a peanut butter lover’s dream! The Elvis sandwich (minus the bacon) is my favorite choice – grilled peanut butter, banana and honey...how can you not be lured in? The meal comes with a bag of chips and a few carrot sticks. Also try nutella or fluffernutter treats. Besides the cute blue and white décor and the peanut butter posters, the food will have you coming back for more or walking away with containers of PB & Co. products. Prepare for a filling but delicious lunch. Also, try snacks like ants on a log – peanut butter & raisins on celery. For me, fashion magazines are where it all began. My love for fashion, writing and dream to work for a fashion publication developed when I first got my hands on Teen Vogue during my early adolescent years. Confession: I became addicted ever since. My room is a shrine to cut outs of captivating photo shoots, intriguing feature stories and style trends; I display the pages like artwork in a museum. Call me crazy, but I get two copies of Teen Vogue: one to keep perfectly intact, the other I use for inspiration as I pin words and images on trend boards around my room. My heart starts to pound of excitement each time I see the latest issues of my favorite magazines. I read my favorite fashion websites and blogs religiously – they are the best way to start off my day and I dream about fashion and returning to NYC at night. Needless to say, I am desperately seeking a career in the fashion journalism world and my personal life reflects this.

Although I’ve grown up watching about every fashion magazine related show - The Hills, The Fashionista Diaries, Stylista, The City, Running in Heels – you name it, I see this profession for more than glamour and chic clothes. As an intern for Lucky last summer, my passion to pursue this field expanded and I have developed even bigger ideas for the future. These shows make me realize what I want to do – get to the “top of the [fashion] world,” and I am getting there steadily.

With the culmination of Fashion Week, which featured the Fall 2009 collections, I thought it would be relevant to show these delicate treats that reflect the latest runway looks. The expression to “have your cake and eat it too” finally applies. Fashion Week highlights from various designers can be tasted at Bergdorf Goodman’s Café BG everyday from 3-5:30. So if you missed Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, check out the cheat sheet depicted through food.

Sadly I learned that Domino Magazine, a beloved home interior shopping publication, is folding. As the sister magazine to Lucky, Domino is known for its comprehensive guide to home decor. Domino is a three year old publication within Conde Nast. What does this mean for the future of magazines? Will print die out and online publications be the new go to source for inspiration? I am so excited for the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic to come out! Between the witty expressions in the trailer paired with the song Disturbia, I can barely contain my excitement. I practically grew up reading the Confessions of a Shopaholic series and now these fantasies are becoming a motion picture. Isla Fisher is adorable and seems like the perfect fit for Rebecca Bloomwood. Her character is hilarious and although exaggerated, the movie will be clever and entertaining. I doubt it will be as good as The Devil Wears Prada, but the fashion appears to be bold and unique. I can’t wait until February…

My new music obsession is The Veronicas. They are a pop-rock band based in Australia, consisting of twin sisters Jessica and Lisa Origliasso. I saw them in concert this summer when they were on tour with Natasha Bedingfield and Kate Voegele. I enjoyed their "danceable" music but recently became addicted to their upbeat songs. In case you have somehow missed the news, Stephenie Meyer's best-selling book Twilight has been transformed into a film! I have yet to read the book (its at the top of my to do list), but I am seeing the movie which is released on 11/21! I am a huge fan of Kristen Stewart, she is so intriguing and unique. She seems like the perfect fit for this role based on everything I have heard and read about the book. Stay tuned for a post after the film comes out tomorrow, but be sure to catch it yourself! Stylista

This new reality TV show features 11 contestants vying for the position of assistant to Anne Slowey, the fashion news director of Elle Magazine. While the concept of the show is interesting and I am a magazine fanatic, it is slightly embarrassing for Elle. To offer a position through competition on reality television is ridiculous as the show is focused purely on entertainment. It conveys the image of fashion magazines as shark tanks. Anne Slowey is not even the Editor in Chief of Elle, so I do not know why she is conducting this show and imitating Meryl Streep’s character in The Devil Wears Prada. It is humiliating for the magazine and for Slowey, especially to be part of show named “Stylista”. The allure of the show is its glamour and amusement, but it certainly does not advocate working for a fashion magazine. In fact, it shows the absurdity of tasks given to assistants such as preparing the perfect breakfast. I am critical of the show because I know that fashion magazines are not like this, even for assistants. I can appreciate the humor, so I find the show exciting and addictive. The show adds to the thrilling line up on CW this season. Stay tuned to see who will receive a paid, year-long junior editorial position, a paid lease on a Manhattan apartment for a year, and a $100,000 clothing allowance at H&M.

Inspired by the biggest shopping day quickly approaching (Black Friday of course...the day after Thanksgiving for those unfamiliar with the madness), I want to explain the allure of Henri Bendel. "A girl's playground," is the perfect description for this depatment store made up of boutiques. It has the largest selection of accessories I have ever seen (especially hair accessories), not to mention amazing jewelry, make-up and little Bendel logo must-haves. Seeing the crisp brown and white stripe bags on the street makes me jump. I can't help but indulge each time I enter this fashion palace. Although it is a zoo on Black Friday (and most weekends leading up to the holidays), it is a must stop shop and has everything on a girl's wishlist.

I Love New York

From the bright lights to the bussling streets, New York City is one of the most magnificent places. Filled with hip restaurants, unique shops and the best array of museums, the excitement of the city is endless.

Besides scouting out the glitz and glamour of the department stores, stocking up on Magnolia cupcakes and seeing the holiday decorations in the next few weeks, I want to check out these major museum exhibits:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Art of Dress, featuring an audio guided tour by Sarah Jessica Parker. This exhibit is organized by The Costume Institute and will cover the Museum's permanent collections of fashion through the ages from the ancient world to the present.

Museum of Natural History - Planitarium and The Butterfly Conservatory: Tropical Butterflies Alive in Winter

Museum of Modern Art - Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night

The Morgan Library and Museum - Drawing Babar. This exhibit revolves around the classic children's stories about Babar the Elephant. The Morgan Library has the working-drafts and early watercolors used in the book. You're never too old to appreciate Babar.
So in between your holiday shopping and sipping hot chocolate, stop at these museums to expand your appreciation of art, culture and fashion. I know I will.

My Weekend With Shooter McGavin

Actor Chris MacDonald, more commonly known as Shooter McGavin (from the popular comedy Happy Gilmore), returned to his alma mater this weekend to celebrate 100 years of William Smith College. He was largely involved in the weekend festivities from a presentation Friday afternoon, to serving as the master of ceremonies Saturday night and a screening of a film he stared in entitled Quiz Show on Monday night. (Not to mention Saturday night on the town in Geneva, NY with HWS students). Chris has premiered in over 85 films and television shows, including his best known movies (Happy Gilmore,) Leave It To Beaver, The American Pie Series and Flubber to name a few (see imdb.com for a complete list). Chris is very much like his character in these movies, extremly funny, (but slightly aggressive). Nevertheless, Chris was eager to engage in the HWS community - from walking through Scandling Center and having students chant "shooterrrrr!!!!!!" to a personal dinner at the Presidents' house with a few students and faculty members. I fortunatley was able to attend this event (how many people can say they ate dinner with an actor?). I was thoroughly impressed by his friendliness and his willingness to speak about his ups and downs before making it in Hollywood. The film he screened afterwards, Quiz Show, is quite an entertaining and informative movie that I thoroughly recommend.

Move over Eric Daman, I'll put Blair Waldorf back in style!

It seems like Blair Waldorf has been slacking in the fashion department lately. Her looks haven't been that inspiring the past few episodes. We've already modeled after her collegiate and feminine attire consisting of fitted blazers and bow headbands, but whats next? Willa Holland, most famously known for her role as Kaitlin Cooper on The OC, has now taken on new heights. She starred in the most recent episode of Gossip Girl playing a model named Agnes who befriends Jenny Humprehy (Taylor Momsen). Willa is much more sophisticated from her days as Marissa Cooper's younger sister. Looks like its not just Josh Schwartz, the director of both The OC & Gossip Girl, who sees tons of talent in the young 17 year old star. Willa will appear in several films this year including Chasing 3000, Garden Party and Middle of Nowhere.

Speaking of the latest episode of Gossip Girl entitled Pret-a-Poor-J, what is with Jenny's new style? I strongly dislike her punk look, especially her new hair. But Nate Archibald couldn't get enough of little J even with her new appearance.

I was amazed by Cynthia Rowley's down to earth nature and personable, open attitude. It was a great surprise to meet a designer as sucessful as Cynthia be so humble and friendly. During the seminar, Cynthia revealed embarrasing stories about how she got to where she did. She had the whole room laughing with her. Cynthia chuckled, "I used to make clothes for my friends so they would write my term papers. Design has always been an obsession of mine."

Cynthia sold her first collection as a senior at the Art Institute of Chicago. She was on the subway and a woman asked her where she got her jacket. Cynthia replied that she has her own collection and the woman (a buyer for a department store) arranged for them to meet two days later. Cynthia had far from her own collection, but spent the whole weekend sewing. Two days later the woman asked Cynthia for her style numbers and product information and it was soon obvious that these were Cynthia's first real garments. While this was slightly embarrassing, it got her started. She has always been open minded and free spirited with her designers. In high school, she sketched bizarre items such as swimsuits with wings thinking about ideas outside of the box. Cynthia's greatest advice is not to be afraid to ask questions. Before her first fashion show, she saw Andy Warhol at Starbucks and shyly gave him an invitation for her show. Small efforts can go a long way.

Cynthia has collections for Target called Swell and Whim. She is also in the works of making a new collection called Hooray for a major chain store. Cynthia is a jack of all trades - a designer, a writer and a tv show guest judge. She wrote a book called Swell: A Girl's Guide to the Good Life and this inspired her collection entitled Swell. She has been a guest judge for several shows including First Design and Project Runway. Cynthia discussed the possibility of a Project Runway show with actual designers, including Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger (who both were in support of this idea).

What stuck out the most from Cynthia's story is her vision of fashion. "Each season you are telling a new story."

NYC Day 2 - Teen Vogue Fashion U

While I waited inside the Hudson Theatre Lobby during registration, I was surrounded by hundreds of Blair Waldorf wannabes. Literally every teeny bopper girl was dressed in a blazer, extravagant bow or flower headband, a high waisted skirt and flats. While I certainly like this look, it was overdone. Blair’s outfits are only fun and chic because it is a television show, they are supposed to be exaggerated. In real life, if tons of girls walk down the street in collegiate style couture from head to toe it’s a bit much. Half the fun of this event was people watching. There were definitely unique styles that inspired me. I fell in love with some tissue layered skirts, silk dresses, patterned tanks tucked into high waisted skirts, double buckle belts, patent leather pumps and mary janes.

The Designer Details: Nanette Lepore
I was extremly excited to hear Nanette Lepore talk about how she became the fashion designer she is today. I have always loved her clothes, even before they hit the big department stores. I’ve been to her shops in Soho, Newbury Street & LA because I’ve had an obsession with her cute, feminine styles. When she announced collaboration with Keds, I jumped on this trend. I practically stalked Nordstorms to get a pair of her flats the day they arrived. I’ve read all about her new digital device in her Washington D.C. store and she has been a fashion role model to me. Sitting in the showroom along with about 30 other young girls who all looked up to her, I was slightly disappointed with Nanette’s attitude. While she has certainly worked hard for her success and has come a long way, she knows she’s accomplished and showed this. She was engaged in the program, but was not that friendly when other students and I came up to her afterwards. Yet, her story is still inspiring…

Alana Newton, the Senior Market Editor of Teen Vogue, interviewed Nanette and then opened it up for a question & answer session. I was intrigued by her story. Nanette didn’t realize she wanted to get into fashion until college. She received a degree in business from a school in Ohio. New York and fashion were never part of her world. However, she came from a creative family and finally decided to try something more visually oriented. Her first job was sketching and she got fired after three weeks. Then she moved to Tric Track, a knitwear company. Nanette eventually moved to a boutique and designed for a private line. Nanette learned fashion from a small perspective, which enabled her to get her foot in the door. She started her own company mainly because she couldn’t get a job anywhere and was stuck in debt. Now she has over 140 employees and 7 boutiques. She has plans in the works to open up 2 more boutiques in Bal Harbor & Madison Avenue. Her company is based off her desire to create eligance and beauty for women. She produces enchanting items that can be either ready to wear and polished or mixed with vintage pieces. In describing her latest collection, Nanette said its “romantic, flowery and pretty.” She also explained of her support for saving the garment district. (Nanette gave out pencils with ribbon & buttons that advocated this effort, as well as umbrellas with her logo). She is saddened by the possibility that the Garment District might be disappearing.

What is the future of Nanette Lepore? Well she is shoe obsessed and wants to create a shoe empire. Her work with Keds and her own line of pumps, heels and flats have paved the way towards this dream. She also wants to create the perfect pair of jeans. Her fragrance has been one of her biggest successes and she has a new scent coming out soon. There will be an international ad campaign so stay tuned.

Crazy for Chanel

I learned tonight about a great temporary exhibit in Central Park entitled "Chanel Mobile Art." 15 artists from around the world have been inspired by the 1955 Chanel bag and their efforts are celebrated in this spectacle. A "flying saucer-esque" building rests at the Rumsey Playfield for three weeks, ending November 9.

I ended up going to this exhibit on Saturday night and little did I know that although tickets are free, they were all reserved immediatley after this "spacecraft" landed in NYC. After a little persuading at the door, we got in! It was certainly well worth it. The variety of art mediums and an audio guide by none other than Coco Chanel completed the atmosphere. As I moved from one room to the next, each got more and more unique. From cardboard boxes with lights and digital images moving throughout, to the giant bag and a wish tree with luggage tags, this experience was like no other. Exciting, inspiring and fashion forward.

A diva in Geneva...off to NYC:

I am attending a weekend full of fashion and magazine seminars in NYC sponsered by Teen Vogue, one of my absolute favorite publications. The event is called Fashion University and is a program that I applied to. It offers the chance to learn the ins and outs of the fashion and magazine industries, both which I love. I will provide endless details tomorrow, but I will be meeting with some of the top fashion designers, editors of Teen Vogue and the author of a chicklit whose work has been turned into a movie. I left school today for the city, perhaps my favorite place in the world. It was such an exhilerating feeling with my bags in hand about to board the plane. I love flying to NYC! The 45 minute flight is the perfect experience because I like to travel but hate being on planes for long periods of time. This brief jet-set gives me a chance to catch up on my celeb gossip, watch some of the Rachel Zoe Project on the individual tvs and then POOF...we land!

When I got out of the cab and stepped foot onto the sidewalk of NYC this evening, it was electrifying. The excitment of the city, the warm fall night, and the hussle and bussle was instantly amazing. I had a fabulous night of drinks, dinner and dessert. The perfect combo. A hidden gem I discovered is Milk & Cookies Bakery in Greenwich Village (19 Commerce Street). Its an adorable cozy shop that has every kind of cookie imaginable, as well as cupcakes, brownies and ice cream sandwiches. Not to mention, the nostalgic treat of chocolate chip cookies & a glass of milk. The intimate environment and traditional moldings reflect the comfort of this locale.

Airport Attraction: JFK's Terminal 5

I jetted off to NYC this weekend for a fashion and magazine seminar (which I will certainly provide great detail about in a later post). But what I want to draw attention to now is the much deserved praise for the chic atmosphere of Jetblue's new Terminal 5 at JFK airport. I had heard of this renovation, but when I got off the plane, I was beyond impressed. I instantly stopped to admire the beauty of this setting. The creative decor and the abundance of restaurants have transformed this space into the style of NYC. Having recently opened on October 22, Terminal 5 was the buzzword all over JFK today. Who would have thought an airport lounge would be the new hotspot?

This Film Is Not Yet Rated

I attended a screening of this independent documentary by Kirby Dick last night and was thoroughly impressed. It shows us what, and mainly who, is behind the closed doors of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). In this witty and satirical investigation, Dick reveals how the MPAA makes their decisions. He stresses the public's right to know who determines what we see and what we don't see in films, or if we can see films at all depending on their ratings. The MPAA has always been in secrecy over its members, but there are plenty of jobs where officials are in positions where they can be targeted or affected by persuasion. Think about school officials, judges and even the Supreme Court. The people holding such positions are known to the public, it would be illogical for them not to be. Thus, we deserve to know, and more importantly directors deserve to know, who is judging and rating their films. Kirby hires an investigator to provide this information. What is perhaps the most ironic part of the film is that the MPAA viewed this movie before it was released, and it announces the members of this board. It is a hilarious and informative movie. How cool would it be to watch and rate movies all day as your job? Even if you are not a film expert, you can still appreciate the cleverness of this film in how Kirby challenges the adminstration to inform the public.

Must Have: Vintage Travel Posters

In light of my lack of blog entries recently, I decided to double up today, mostly because I am so inspired by these vintage travel posters. They depict locations in such an exciting and captivating way. Looking at them makes me want to hop on a plane and go to Africa or Scotland or India or San Francisco. Actually I want to go to all of these places.

What a creative and cool way to celebrate art! And such a refreshing change from the posters hanging in most dorm rooms.

Whitney is done with the The Hills, and is jetting off to "The City," New York City of course, where she will continue her fashion career at DVF. This spin off-show looks even better than The Hills...sorry Lauren but we're sick of your drama as well as Audrina & Justin Bobby's on again/off again relationship. Whitney has always been my favorite part of The Hills and now will be the main star in her own show. With her cool unique style and low key personality, Whitney seems like the perfect fashion role model. She's a great example of how dedication and passion pay off even in such a competitive industry.

My Obsession: Madewell 1937

A branch off company of J.Crew, this chic, slightly boho brand is all the rage! It attracts a younger, trendier shopper with its more contemporary looks, while still maintaining the classic appeal of J.Crew. Madewell launced in 2006 and I've been crazy over it ever since! The printed scarves and amazing selection of jeans keep me hooked. There are tons of different styles, colors, lengths and details. Madewell also has awesome boots, from hunter rain boots to the perfect flat riding boot (and all thats in between).

RIP CosmoGirl

Unfortunatley today's scoop isn't fashionable, flashy, or fun. It's not something that will inspire you or make you want to check out the latest styles, television shows or music.

With that said, I sadly learned today that CosmoGirl has folded. The last publication to be released will be the December 2008 issue. While CosmoGirl (part of Hearst Corporation) is not my favorite magazine, its sad to hear this news. (Remember middle school days when every girl went giddy over the "Eye Candy" tear out cards?) Upon receiving this information about CosmoGirl's end, I felt awful because I knew CosmoGirl had been trying to prevent this from happening. I learned from an inside source at the begining of the summer that CosmoGirl was "reinventing" itself for the September issue. This gossip excited me and I passed it around, anxious to see the upcoming issue. It would be a blend between Nylon and Teen Vogue I was told. I was thoroughly impressed when September came around. The new layout was captivating and creative. The magazine itself was bolder and more mature - a perfect makeover to the publication I presumed.

When I received this news about CosmoGirl, I also thought about my recent post "The Fashionista Diaries" (see below). In that show, the summer interns at Jane Magazine were relocated to CosmoGirl after Jane folded. Now CosmoGirl has taken the beating. This pattern should not neccessarily be attributed to the magazine industry, but rather stems from the ongoing problems with the economy. With so many publications all competing for subscribers, only the top can survive. As someone who is OBSESSED with magazines, I can sympathize. I want to enter into this industry, so unless you work for a magazine that is always flying off the shelves, it can be rough. With that said, the turnover rate is high allowing for lots of opportunities. People are constantly moving from one magazine to the next, seeing what other departments and jobs offerings are out there.

So support the magazine industry and CosmoGirl's last mark. Be sure to pick up the final issues of CosmoGirl next time you walk by the newstand or are in the supermarket. I know I sure will.

CosmoGirl subscribers, after December you will be provided with copies of Seventeen Magazine, its sister publication. And don't worry, cosmogirl.com is still alive and kickin'!

The place to see and be seen this weekend is the Race at Far Hills aka The Hunt. Moorland Farms in Somerset Country New Jersey will be the hotspot this Saturday as tons of preppy students and socialites gather to watch the race. Well not really watch, but purely attend this social event. The Hunt includes a giant talgate party and is a mix of countryside and class. It has become a tradition amongst HWS upperclassmen to attend The Hunt. In spirit of the races this weekend and these vintage riding posters, here's how to take on the equestrian style.

The Fashionista Diaries

Although this show aired in Summer 2007, if you have not checked it out already you need to! It follows the lives of six young assistants who are trying to enter into the fashion and beauty industry in New York City. The assistants worked at Seventh House PR, Flirt! Cosmetics and Jane Magazine until it folded and then moved to CosmoGirl Magazine. If you want a true perspective of the hard work (but also glamour) involved in the fashion industry, watch this show. Its more accurate than Lauren Conrad's life on The Hills depicting her job at Teen Vogue. Also, the show is extremly addicting and provides a realistic view of how young people can follow their "big dreams" and emerge into this field.

As someone who is obsessed with television, and fashion, this is a great mix between the two. My friend showed me one episode and we were hooked. The Fashionista Diaries can only be viewed by downloading it on itunes, but its well worth it!

Elephant Trend Still Big

Well we've certainly seen elephant necklaces around the past few seasons. I swear my friends started this trend YEARS ago when they found an elephant necklace in a thrift store. But even if we were not the ones who began this fashion trend, we like to think we did. Now every time I see an elephant pendant, I have to have it. I have obtained quite a collection from thrift stores and flea markets. I'm not the only one still on the elephant hunt. Elephants continue to be a popular fashion trend. Check out the dress by Va Va that was worn by Sage Baker (Ashley Newbrough) on CW's new show "Privileged." Sage wore the yellow version of the dress, but here it is in denim.

Inspired by my summer internship at Lucky Magazine and my academic interests, I have decided to create a digital log - a work which will incorporate my love of fashion, media and writing. I am a sophomore double majoring in Media & Society and Writing & Rhetoric. My studies are inspiring and career focused as I anticipate working in the magazine industry. Specifically, I hope to work for a fashion magazine!

Fashion has always been an obsession of mine. Growing up, I would run to the mailbox anxiously waiting for my favorite fashion publications to arrive. Upon receiving them, I would read them inside and out, devouring every last word and image.
